Sr. IT Systems Engineer (Identity and Endpoint)

Location: Remote. The role supports a global, remote-first workforce. A geo-tier adjustment of up to $190,000 applies to highly experienced candidates within 50 miles of San Francisco, New York City, or Seattle.

What you will do

• Architect and own identity, endpoint, and SaaS platforms including Okta, JAMF, Intune, and Google Workspace.
• Lead the design and rollout of zero-trust access models, device compliance frameworks, and global endpoint standards.
• Build automation and infrastructure as code for configuration, provisioning, and lifecycle workflows.
• Partner with Information Security on controls, vulnerability management, SOC 2, HIPAA, and customer security reviews.
• Act as the senior escalation point for incident response and root cause analysis.
• Define engineering standards and runbooks, mentor IT teammates, evaluate vendors, and contribute to the IT roadmap.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, endpoint engineering, or infrastructure roles with ownership of production platforms.
• Hands-on expertise with Okta, including SSO, SCIM, lifecycle automation, and conditional access.
• Expert experience managing Mac and Windows fleets with JAMF and Intune, including packaging, deployment, security policies, and compliance enforcement.
• Strong scripting and automation skills with Python, Bash, or PowerShell, including API use and source-controlled configuration.
• Experience implementing encryption, vulnerability management, and zero-trust security controls with Information Security teams.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects, mentoring engineers, and communicating technical tradeoffs to executive and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Healthcare, health tech, HIPAA, SOC 2, or other regulated-environment experience.
• Infrastructure as code and CI/CD experience for endpoint or SaaS configuration.
• AWS or GCP experience and modern cloud networking knowledge.
• Experience with VDI or managed browser environments for call center or clinical operations.
• AI-assisted IT operations workflows or relevant JAMF, Okta, or Microsoft certifications.
