IT Systems Engineer, M&A (AI)

Location: Boston, MA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; New York City, NY; or Washington, DC. Staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time, and travel is required.

What you will do

• Lead technical IT due diligence for acquisitions by assessing identity, applications, endpoints, infrastructure, security risks, and integration effort.
• Define technical integration plans covering migrations, sequencing, day-one readiness, security mitigations, and system retirement.
• Run hands-on integrations by administering systems and migrating people, devices, and data onto Anthropic’s technology stack.
• Partner with Business Technology, Client Platform, Corporate Network, IT Operations, Security, Legal, Finance, People, and Corporate Development.
• Build a repeatable IT M&A playbook and automate diligence and integration workflows with Claude.
• Contribute to Corporate Systems planning, reviews, tooling, and roadmap projects when M&A work is light.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on corporate IT engineering experience, including designing and shipping systems, migrations or integrations, and end-to-end ownership of an IT area.
• Experience administering enterprise identity and collaboration platforms such as Google Workspace, Slack, and an SSO provider.
• Ability to write production code in Python or a similar language against SaaS APIs.
• Working knowledge of endpoint management and security, with the ability to assess unfamiliar IT environments and prioritize risks for non-specialists.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical projects with fixed deadlines while performing substantial engineering work directly.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or professional experience, plus clear communication with executives, legal, corporate development, and engineering stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Prior M&A, carve-out, or company-to-company migration experience.
• Experience across endpoints, systems, applications, and infrastructure.
• Hands-on device fleet or MDM management experience.
• Experience working in or alongside a security team.
• Experience building tooling that replaces manual IT work or using Claude and similar tools in daily workflows.
