Software Engineer (AI)

Location: United States-related clearance environment; applicants must already hold an active TS/SCI clearance with a current Full Scope Polygraph before applying. Clearance sponsorship or processing is not available.

Salary: $260,000–$285,000 per year, plus $65,000–$71,000 in immediately vested company 401(k) contributions.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain high-quality AI tools, applications, and customer-facing infrastructure.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, performance, and security across AI services and supporting components.
• Modify free and open-source software to address customer use cases.
• Engage with customers to elicit requirements and turn ambiguous problems into technical solutions.
• Lead AI tools and applications initiatives, coordinate work across integrated teams, and coach junior developers.
• Establish technical policies, standards, governance, monitoring, logging, and observability practices.

Requirements

• Current TS/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph required before applying.
• Clearance sponsorship or processing is not available.
• 12 years of experience, plus a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Mastery of Python and significant experience developing and maintaining production software.
• Experience with AWS or another cloud provider, Kubernetes and Helm, CI/CD frameworks such as Argo CD, Docker, and containerization.
• Experience applying Site Reliability Engineering practices, using LLMs in code solution workflows, and leading or managing junior developers.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM user interface open-source software such as OpenWebUI.
• Experience with LLM model hosting.
• Advanced experience with customer requirements elicitation, community outreach, and integration.
• Proficiency with AWS, Kubernetes and Helm, Argo CD or other CI/CD frameworks, Docker, and SRE practices.
