Data Center Technician - Warren, OH

Location: Warren, Ohio, United States; 100% onsite at a data center with up to 10% travel to other data center locations and rotating on-call shifts in a 24/7 environment.

Base salary: $65,000–$85,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus, equity awards, and benefits based on eligibility.

What you will do

• Maintain data center operations to ensure service availability, reliability, and defined service levels.
• Diagnose, repair, assemble, install, and maintain server, networking, test, and tool equipment.
• Perform root cause analysis of hardware and software failures and respond to onsite equipment failures or emergencies within 60 minutes during scheduled on-call shifts.
• Develop scripts to update server and networking hardware and create operational documentation.
• Maintain inventory and provide technical support and training to data center teams.

Requirements

• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and assembly.
• Experience with the Linux operating system.
• Ability to regularly transport and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to remain stationary for extended periods, maneuver in cramped or elevated spaces including under-floor areas and ladders, and perform fine-motor tasks involving small hardware components and cables.
• Availability for a flexible schedule in a 24/7 environment, including a rotating on-call shift.
• Ability to work in a climate-controlled data center with fluctuating temperatures and variable airflow, including designated hot and cold aisles ranging from 60°F to 90°F.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and react quickly to issues.

Nice to have

• Hands-on or education-based experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair, data centers, computer networking, Python, Bash, other scripting languages, Cisco IOS, or Juniper JunOS.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt while troubleshooting complex physical infrastructure challenges.
• Curiosity about data center networking, server architectures, and automation scripts.
• Drive to maintain high reliability standards and solve operational constraints.
