Materials Engineer Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: Shawano, Wisconsin, United States; onsite.

What you will do

• Optimize melt cycles through standard work and tap-to-tap tracking.
• Understand and promote least-cost charge practices, chemistry changes, and adjustment training for hourly employees.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and support additional production projects.
• Participate in product design and development fundamentals, including testing with a variety of tools and equipment.
• Document and improve production processes while serving as a resource for other team members.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with current academic standing of at least Sophomore level.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to succeed in a team environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Employment may require verifying U.S. Person status or the employer obtaining an export license for access to controlled information or technology.

Nice to have

• Experience with AutoCAD and Pro-E.
