Mechanical Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: Hybrid positions available in Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio, Austin, and Houston, Texas, United States; intermittent local travel may be required for site visits and project coordination.

What you will do

• Support engineering design efforts across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, telecommunications, fire protection, and structural disciplines.
• Prepare construction drawings, models, diagrams, details, calculations, and technical documentation using Revit, AutoCAD, and other design tools.
• Assist with system layouts, equipment and component selections, design coordination, and integrated project delivery.
• Prepare reports, design narratives, technical memoranda, and other project deliverables.
• Collect, input, verify, and organize site survey data and review product data, shop drawings, and submittals.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and other disciplines and participate in project meetings.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, fire protection, or related engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• At least two years of relevant coursework and a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Strong interest in building systems, infrastructure design, and multidisciplinary project delivery.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, communicate clearly, stay organized, and work with intermittent supervision.

Nice to have

• Internship, co-op, academic, or project experience in building systems, structural systems, infrastructure, or multidisciplinary engineering design.
• Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, 3D modeling and design software, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
• Interest or coursework in HVAC, electrical power, lighting, plumbing, fire protection, telecommunications, technology systems, or structural design.
