Student Intern (Civil or Structural Engineering)

Location: Juneau, Alaska, United States; work in the Juneau office with field travel around Southeast Alaska.

Employee-owned engineering consulting firm working on infrastructure, energy transition, digital transformation, sustainability, mining, and water systems.

What you will do

• Assist with civil, structural, transportation, and land development design work.
• Perform engineering calculations and simulations.
• Research assigned technical topics.
• Assist with field inspections and laboratory testing.
• Collaborate with full-time employees and multidisciplinary teams on public- and private-sector projects.
• Gain exposure to clients, job sites, laboratories, and local communities with mentoring and coaching from experienced staff.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to operate a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.
• Team-oriented approach and commitment to producing quality work.

Nice to have

• Strong time management skills and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work efficiently.
• Coursework in steel, wood, concrete, and precast or prestressed concrete design.
• Working knowledge of civil or structural engineering fundamentals.
• Self-motivation, attention to detail, strong problem-solving and mathematical skills, and sound analytical and judgment capabilities.
• Some proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Willingness to travel around Southeast Alaska.
