Power Systems Project Manager

Location: Fairview Heights, Illinois, with additional locations in Houston, Texas; Plano, Texas; Denver, Colorado; West Lafayette, Indiana; Plymouth, Michigan; Medina, Minnesota; and Markham, Ontario. Requires domestic and international travel of at least 25% based on the focus area.

Salary: $79,000–$124,000 annually for the Project Engineer II - Project Manager level; the range may differ based on level, location, experience, training, knowledge, and skills.

What you will do

• Work with customers to understand needs and develop proposals within Engineering Services capabilities.
• Act as a trusted customer advisor and lead projects within agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
• Prepare and maintain detailed scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and project performance documentation.
• Use project metrics and regular reporting to forecast performance and compare results with baselines.
• Identify and improve project and procedural deficiencies.
• Lead customer projects involving the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of automation and protection systems.

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant application experience with project management best practices and philosophies.
• Good knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration and/or automation, and communications applications.
• Working knowledge of electric power system design, studies, information and communication technology, and protective relay applications.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally at least 25% based on the focus area.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Satisfactory background check results.
• Experience managing or supporting projects through the full lifecycle from bid to close-out, using scheduling software, critical-path analysis, project performance metrics, stakeholder reporting, and structured change management.
