Lead Enterprise Architect (Healthcare Payer)

Location: Louisville, KY; other locations include Chicago, IL; Atlanta, GA; New York, NY; Boston, MA; and Dallas, TX. Full-time, onsite role.

Salary: $142,300–$195,700 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Define and maintain enterprise architecture vision, principles, standards, technology strategies, and multi-year roadmaps.
• Align business strategy, value streams, capabilities, technology investments, and IT portfolio execution with desired business outcomes.
• Establish architecture governance, reference architectures, methodologies, capability models, technology inventories, and architecture review processes.
• Lead modernization initiatives using cloud, API-led integration, event-driven architectures, automation, AI, and emerging technologies.
• Drive portfolio rationalization, identify capability gaps and modernization opportunities, and develop target-state architectures and transition roadmaps.
• Lead cross-functional transformation initiatives and mentor enterprise, solution, technology, and system architects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• Extensive experience in Enterprise Architecture leadership roles within large, complex organizations.
• Deep healthcare payer industry experience, including strong understanding of health plan operating models and business processes.
• Progressive experience as a senior architect, lead architect, or technology leader overseeing large-scale enterprise initiatives.
• Proven success leading business and technology transformation programs.
• Experience collaborating with executive leadership and influencing strategic decision-making.
• Deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks, practices, governance, solution architecture, enterprise integration patterns, application modernization, system decomposition, API and event-driven architectures, cloud-native and hybrid cloud environments, scalable highly available fault-tolerant systems, data and information architecture, and AI and emerging technology strategies.
• Experience creating enterprise technology strategies, reference architectures, and multi-year roadmaps.
• Strong understanding of healthcare interoperability, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

• Architectural guidance for initiatives supporting Medicare, Medicaid, and Specialty Insurance products.
• Experience with Medicare Advantage and Supplemental Plans.
• Healthcare Information Technology experience.
• Experience with regulatory and compliance programs.
• Deep understanding of healthcare payer industry trends, regulations, emerging technologies, and best practices.
