Senior Platform Engineer, Layer0 (Auth0)

Location: Remote team; candidates located in Canada

Salary: CAD 136,000–187,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Develop and maintain a scalable platform runtime using infrastructure-as-code across Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure.
• Architect resilient infrastructure for cross-cutting concerns such as service discovery and routing, and establish platform best practices.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize platform resiliency, scalability, and cost.
• Use DataDog and Prometheus to design SLIs and enforce platform SLOs.
• Design secure-by-default infrastructure and collaborate with security teams on compliance.
• Lead complex cross-functional initiatives, mentor engineers, participate in on-call rotation, and use company-approved AI tools for engineering, operations, research, and analysis.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of software development experience.
• Deep technical expertise in Golang, Terraform, Kubernetes, and major cloud providers including AWS and Azure.
• Experience architecting distributed systems and making complex technical tradeoffs, including consistency versus availability and build versus buy.
• Operational experience leading incident response, driving root-cause analyses, and implementing preventative measures.
• Experience experimenting with AI models and exploring different effort levels and context.
• Comfort working on a fully distributed remote team.

Nice to have

• Advanced Kubernetes experience, including autoscaling, KEDA, or KNative, or expertise in performance and load testing.
• Experience with Redis, Kafka, and/or PostgreSQL at scale.
• Experience building with agentic AI.
• Strong opinions about text editors, the CAP theorem, or Dota2.
