Procurement Category Manager (Electrical)

Location: Palo Alto, California, United States; hybrid

Salary: $190,000–$260,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Develop electrical category and sourcing strategies to support the timely delivery of AI infrastructure campuses.
• Build strategic relationships with suppliers and establish master goods and services agreements, frameworks, and capacity commitments.
• Run procurement processes from supplier engagement and pre-qualification through RFI, RFQ, RFP, negotiation, and contract award.
• Coordinate engineering, design, construction, commissioning, operations, project controls, and finance stakeholders during supplier selection.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, delivery schedules, warranties, payment milestones, and service levels.
• Manage supplier escalations, supply-chain risks, performance reviews, category spend, savings, and supplier data.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience in procurement, category management, or supplier relationship management, ideally in data centers, mission-critical facilities, energy, construction, or large-scale infrastructure.
• Direct experience procuring electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, turbines, busway, power distribution units, and battery energy storage.
• Experience developing supplier partnerships and master agreements, frameworks, or capacity arrangements for project pipelines.
• Experience with structured procurement processes, stakeholder requirements, supplier negotiations, and commercial contract terms.
• Strong analytical and cost-modeling skills, including total-cost-of-ownership analysis, with experience using ERP, procurement systems, AI-based systems, and Excel.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in Palo Alto, California, United States, with confirmation of the right to work during pre-employment screening.

Nice to have

• CIPS or CPSM qualification, or progress toward one.
• Experience across European and North American markets.
• Familiarity with NEC, JCT, FIDIC, GMP, or AIA standard-form contracts.
