Cloud Application Engineer (AWS/Azure)

Location: Hybrid, with remote and onsite support in the Washington, DC area. Travel may be required based on client and project needs. U.S. work authorization is required; additional citizenship, residency, clearance, or suitability requirements may apply based on federal client requirements.

Salary: $100,000–$145,000 annually.

What you will do

• Administer, maintain, monitor, and optimize AWS and Microsoft Azure environments, cloud resources, security policies, access controls, and permissions.
• Manage cloud-based development and end-user computing environments, including Amazon WorkSpaces and Microsoft Windows 365 Cloud PCs.
• Support cloud migrations, platform modernization, enterprise application deployment and integration, and Microsoft 365 and third-party platform integrations.
• Administer Atlassian Jira and Confluence, including workflows, permissions, dashboards, and project spaces.
• Administer Microsoft SQL Server, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, performance tuning, backup, recovery, disaster recovery, security, and compliance controls.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, DevSecOps, scripting, automation, vulnerability remediation, incident response, root-cause analysis, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Five or more years of experience supporting cloud infrastructure and enterprise applications.
• Experience administering AWS and/or Microsoft Azure environments.
• Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience managing Amazon WorkSpaces and/or Microsoft Windows 365 Cloud PCs.
• Experience implementing or supporting Infrastructure-as-Code solutions.
• Experience administering Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
• Working knowledge of DevOps and DevSecOps methodologies and practices, and experience troubleshooting complex cloud, application, infrastructure, and integration issues.
• Understanding of cloud security, access management, vulnerability remediation, and operational security practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain any federal background investigation, suitability, or access requirements associated with the position.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting federal government or federal contractor environments.
• Experience with Docker, containerized workloads, Kubernetes, cloud security and compliance frameworks, and Microsoft 365 integrations.
• Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or Atlassian Jira Administrator certification.
