Senior Software Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States; hybrid work policy with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote; must be able to report to the local office.

What you will do

• Create software for vehicle-level functions and perform integration and verification testing with minimal direction from lead engineers.
• Analyze software defects, determine root causes, develop solutions, test implementations, and verify issue closure.
• Perform design and analysis for software changes and diagnose, debug, and resolve vehicle hardware and software issues.
• Collaborate with teams across multiple groups to meet project milestones.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Four years of experience as a Computer Systems Analyst, Software Engineer, or in a related role.
• Four years of experience in software development, data structures, databases and integration, software development methodologies, Scrum ceremonies, deployment, and DevOps activities.
• Four years of experience performing technology evaluations, implementing prototypes, and applying software development practices including TDD.
• Four years of experience developing 12-factor microservices using Spring, Spring Boot, platform-as-a-service, and infrastructure-as-a-service technologies, including object stores, configuration management, and service registries.
• Four years of experience with cloud-based infrastructure including PCF/OCF and Azure, and developing microservices using CI/CD, Spring, Spring Boot, and PaaS capabilities.
• Four years of experience with RESTful APIs, event-based messaging, Java and JEE business solutions, and the full software development lifecycle.
• Four years of experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Artifactory, similar systems, and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
