Head of Technical Delivery

Location: Hybrid, with in-person collaboration at the HQ in Leicestershire or the London Holborn office; fully remote working is not available. The role is a 13-month fixed-term contract starting in February 2027.

What you will do

• Own technical delivery across Engineering, Product, Design and Data, including vendor and agency relationships, contracts, financials, account management and delivery reporting.
• Manage EPDD budgets with Finance, including CapEx reporting, headcount and resourcing, and plan contractor resource roll-on and roll-off.
• Run quarterly and annual EPDD planning, including capacity planning and collaboration with Strategy, Product and other business functions.
• Build and improve executive-level delivery reporting across squads and agency partners, acting as the main contact for programme status and surfacing risks early.
• Manage and support Technical Delivery Managers, helping with squad delivery, ceremonies, blockers and wider EPDD hiring.
• Grow and embed the Delivery function, translate business needs into product-focused plans, and programme-manage cross-functional EPDD initiatives.

Requirements

• Extensive experience coordinating and delivering large, multi-team programmes in a product- and technology-led organisation, in a role such as Head of Delivery, Delivery Lead or Programme Manager.
• Comfort working across agile, hybrid and traditional delivery environments.
• Experience engaging and influencing stakeholders from delivery teams through Directors and Executives, with the credibility and calm authority to lead high-visibility initiatives and build trust quickly.
• Experience owning external vendor and agency relationships, including contracts, financials and delivery coordination.
• Confidence using Jira, Confluence, engineering metrics platforms and roadmap software to build reporting while staying close to delivery detail.
• Experience turning high-level direction into action, embedding change after implementation, unblocking problems independently and escalating when appropriate.
• Clear communication and strong people skills, including experience bringing diverse teams together around shared goals and handling ambiguity, challenge and change with resilience and empathy.
