Program Manager, Accounting Operations & Strategy

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; hybrid, with staff expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time, while some roles may require more office time.

Annual salary: $230,000–$300,000 USD.

What you will do

• Run the annual goal-setting process, progress reporting, org-wide planning calendar, and organizational health metrics covering attrition, engagement, hiring pipeline, training completion, and survey trends.
• Improve meetings, handoffs, planning cycles, decision-making processes, and other operating rhythms across the Accounting organization.
• Manage the extended leadership team program, including agendas, meetings, follow-ups, and action items.
• Plan the annual offsite and quarterly all-hands, and write team newsletters and leadership talking points.
• Coordinate employee experience, training, development, survey follow-up, recognition, hub visits and rotations, local events, and cross-time-zone meeting norms.
• Support contractor management and maintain the knowledge base, org charts, role descriptions, process documentation, and team calendar.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in program management, operations, chief of staff, or strategy roles.
• Track record of running recurring programs end to end and achieving follow-through without formal authority.
• Strong judgment when prioritizing multiple moving pieces and deciding which processes matter.
• Clear, direct writing and the ability to brief senior leaders concisely.
• Ability to handle confidential information and sensitive people topics.
• Experience supporting distributed or global teams.
• Ability to recognize when processes create unnecessary friction and simplify them.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
• Relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.
