Senior Solutions Architect (Microsoft Azure)

Location: Toronto, ON; work arrangement and the proportion of on-site and remote work will be discussed during the interview. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and may need a valid work or study permit.

What you will do

• Design and implement infrastructure solutions for Technology Operations and Application Development projects.
• Select and size platforms, and develop data management, disaster recovery, high availability, migration, and other infrastructure designs.
• Integrate distinct products into application infrastructure and support design issues during project implementations.
• Analyze technical risks, estimate project effort, and assess technologies where established guidelines may not exist.
• Guide solution delivery teams and collaborate with business partners, architecture groups, platform managers, Information Security, Risk Management, Engineering, support teams, and vendors.
• Act as a focal point for escalations involving major technical issues.

Requirements

• At least five years of related experience across infrastructure disciplines and a university degree.
• Experience with cloud technologies, including Microsoft Azure, as well as Windows and UNIX operating systems, including Solaris and Red Hat Linux.
• Experience with databases, systems management, security, networks, hardware, storage, and system utilities.
• Experience with application platforms such as J2EE and .NET.
• Experience with BI products such as Cognos, SAS, and Informatica.
• Critical thinking, attention to detail, ownership, leadership, and the ability to build trusted relationships with diverse partners.
