Senior Software Architect (SaaS)

Location: Hybrid in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, with 3 days per week in the Oakville office

Salary: CAD 143,600–175,000 per year

What you will do

• Architect and design scalable, secure, multi-tenant SaaS applications for government agencies.
• Provide technical leadership on complex architectural decisions while balancing delivery needs with long-term scalability and maintainability.
• Lead technology selection across frameworks, tools, and cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership, product managers, and stakeholders on technical requirements, integrations, and roadmaps.
• Ensure solutions meet security and compliance standards, including SOC 2 and PCI.
• Guide engineering teams and optimize platform performance, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a software architect, preferably with SaaS products in government or the public sector.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python, PHP, or JavaScript and relevant frameworks.
• Experience with API development, integration patterns, and secure data exchange protocols.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into SaaS applications.
• DevSecOps experience and security-first architectural design.
• Experience with identity management and access control for government applications.
• AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect certification.
