Freelance English (UK) Live CART Captioner

Location: Remote, must be based in the United Kingdom; travel within the country may be required for live events and on-site productions.

What you will do

• Provide real-time CART captioning for events, presentations, broadcasts, and live productions.
• Support broadcast, television, streaming, games, and other media projects.
• Apply captioning guidelines for accurate placement, formatting, and accessibility.
• Work independently and collaboratively with production teams under tight real-time deadlines.
• Travel within the United Kingdom when required for specific live events or on-site productions.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United Kingdom.
• Native-speaker proficiency in UK English.
• Prior experience in live broadcasting, media production, or a real-time subtitling unit.
• Proficiency with professional captioning software and equipment.
• Extensive knowledge of captioning guidelines, including placement, formatting, and accessibility standards.
• Familiarity with captioning formats including WebVTT and SRT.
• Ability to maintain high accuracy and focus under tight, real-time deadlines.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Willingness to travel within the United Kingdom and adapt to schedules outside normal business hours for live broadcasts.
• Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before starting the recruitment process.
