Director, Digital Platform Engineering (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with required on-site work from an hirify.global office in Acton, Massachusetts, United States

Annual base salary: $205,800–$308,700, with potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the digital platform engineering organization and define architecture, platform, and operational strategy.
• Architect cloud-native platforms, API gateways, LLM gateways, developer portals, and multi-agent systems for digital experiences.
• Build context and harness engineering capabilities that securely connect CRM, loyalty, web engagement, and LLM services.
• Enable conversational commerce, intelligent product discovery, personalization, and customer journey capabilities across digital touchpoints.
• Lead the transition to an AI-native software development lifecycle with AI-assisted coding, automated workflows, and AI-driven testing.
• Partner with digital product management and Enterprise AI & Data to improve conversion, loyalty engagement, retention, developer experience, and platform reliability.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience in distributed systems, global API management, and high-traffic e-commerce architectures.
• 5+ years managing teams focused on platform engineering, SDLC automation, and full-stack software development.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale technology transformations and partnering with centralized Data or AI organizations in a matrixed environment.
• Expertise in enterprise API management, LLM gateways, internal developer portals, Kubernetes, serverless patterns, AI harnesses, multi-agent architectures, context engineering, and RAG.
• Fluency in agentic SDLC implementations, policy-as-code, CI/CD orchestration, and enterprise observability platforms.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with required on-site work at an hirify.global office.
