Senior Corporate Counsel HVAC Germany (HVAC)

Location: Oberhausen, Germany; based in the Jettingen-Scheppach/Munich or Oberhausen areas; on-site five days per week.

What you will do

• Provide legal support on German and international contract law, German commercial, corporate, and construction law.
• Draft, review, and negotiate German- and English-language supply, sales, distribution, OEM, terms and conditions, and confidentiality agreements.
• Advise purchasing, engineering, HSE, human resources, finance, sales, and other teams at AL-KO factories and sales offices in Germany and Austria, as well as the Trane Controls/BMS organization outside Germany.
• Manage commercial and technical claims and the portfolio of pending legal cases, and coordinate external lawyers.
• Collaborate on European strategic initiatives and M&A projects.
• Identify legal risks, determine operational responses, and organize employee training on legal topics.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of related legal experience.
• Skills and knowledge of German law.
• Understanding of business activities and legal processes.
• Negotiation, legal writing, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as an in-house lawyer and as a solo in-house lawyer interacting virtually with European peers.
• Fluency in German and English.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Ability to work with an international and multicultural audience, with agility, adaptability, rigor, organizational skills, and priority-management ability.

Nice to have

• 2–3 years of in-house legal experience.
• Any additional language.
