Manager, Production (HDD Manufacturing)

Location: Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia; onsite at Bayan Lepas PN2

What you will do

• Lead daily Finished Goods Quality & Packing operations to achieve HDD shipment commitments safely, accurately, and on time.
• Monitor shipment readiness, inventory availability, operational risks, on-hold inventory disposition, and shippable inventory aging.
• Lead and develop Coordinators, Technicians, and Operators through training, certification, and competency management.
• Maintain compliance with IMS, RBA, quality standards, SOPs, safety requirements, and operational standards; drive audit readiness, corrective actions, error-proofing, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Planning, and Logistics, acting as the technical interface for quality specifications, packaging requirements, and accept/reject criteria.
• Represent FQAP in cross-functional meetings, communicate performance and risks, and escalate critical issues with defined recovery plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing or operations, including 3–5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S.
• Proficiency in production planning systems such as SAP or MES.
• Strong leadership, analytical, cross-functional communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in HDD, semiconductor, or high-volume precision manufacturing.
