Software Engineering Manager (Continuous Identity)

Location: USA - Sunnyvale, CA; hybrid role requiring 2–3 days per week on-site at one of the posted locations.

Base salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year for U.S. candidates, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, hire, and retain a high-performing backend engineering team while managing capacity, performance, and career development.
• Drive technical execution, unblock engineers, align delivery with product goals, and spend approximately 20–30% of the time prototyping, coding, and guiding hands-on engineering.
• Architect scalable, low-latency continuous identity evaluation and enforcement systems and lead architecture and design reviews.
• Build and scale high-throughput pipelines that unify identity security across endpoints, SaaS platforms, browsers, and cloud resources, processing millions of events per second.
• Establish CI/CD, code review, testing, service reliability, SLO, incident response, and continuous improvement practices.
• Partner with product management, infrastructure, and peer engineering teams on planning, roadmaps, delivery, and ecosystem integrations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience and 2+ years leading backend cloud engineering teams.
• Hands-on coding ability in Go, Python, or Java; Go is preferred.
• Proven success building and scaling cloud-native microservices and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with REST/gRPC, databases, Kubernetes, and Kafka-based event streaming.
• Experience operating production services in AWS, GCP, OCI, or Azure, including on-call and incident response.
• Strong people leadership, hiring, mentoring, and Agile/Scrum delivery management skills.
• Proven experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity, Zero Trust, ITDR, PAM, identity protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, or SAML, or identity-based threat mitigation experience.
• Experience with the Shared Signals Framework, CAEP/RISC, or non-human and machine identities.
• Familiarity with Neo4j, Kafka/Flink stream processing, or ML-based behavioral analytics.
• Experience building engineering teams and culture or leading major system migrations and integrations.
