Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering, Agent Trust & Security (AI)

Location: Pleasanton, California, USA; additional location in Boulder, Colorado, USA. Flex work requires spending at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, or partners.

Salary: $209,600–$314,400 annual base salary for the primary location; additional U.S. locations have ranges of $174,800–$314,400, and Colorado has a range of $184,000–$276,000.

What you will do

• Lead, hire, and develop software engineers, including senior and principal engineers, while setting standards for security engineering, design quality, and delivery pace.
• Define how agents are identified, authenticated, and authorized across the agent registry using hirify.global’s security model and standards such as OAuth.
• Partner with Agent Passport on agent identity, credentials, attestations, and verification.
• Use customer and product insight to shape security and identity capabilities with product management.
• Coordinate security architecture across the agent registry, agent gateway, Agent Passport, and hirify.global security teams.
• Make AI code generation central to development, measure its effect on speed and quality, and manage written plans, milestones, and risks.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading and developing engineering teams that shipped and operated production services.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with security-critical systems such as authentication, authorization, identity, or security platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience is also considered.
• Strong, current hands-on use of AI code generation tools and experience leading a team that builds with them.
• Working knowledge of OAuth, workload and service identity, and access control models.
• Experience working directly with customers or shaping a security or identity product with product management.
• Track record of predictable delivery across teams with shared dependencies.
• Track record of hiring and developing senior and principal engineers, including teams split across locations.
• Excellent communication skills, including explaining security designs to engineers, customers, and executives.

Nice to have

• Experience with signed credentials, attestation, or verifiable credentials.
• Experience with AI agent platforms or protocols such as MCP or A2A, or with LLM applications in production.
• Experience with multi-tenant enterprise SaaS.
