Lead Design Engineer (CAE Cross-Domain)

What you will do

• Translate CAE pre-processing and post-processing workflows into implementation-ready design specifications.
• Define use cases, user interactions, workflow states, edge cases, validation rules, and acceptance criteria.
• Design Nastran solver integration workflows covering input decks, solver behavior, result interpretation, and integration constraints.
• Create wireframes, interaction models, process diagrams, and system behavior models using Figma and Visual Paradigm.
• Design Python scripting interfaces, automation workflows, and custom tools for CAE validation and productivity.
• Lead design reviews and collaborate with product management, architecture, development, QA, design engineers, and solver experts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computational Engineering, Computer-Aided Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, CAE, simulation workflow design, solver integration, application engineering, product design, or related engineering software domains.
• Strong knowledge of Nastran workflows, including model setup, input decks, boundary conditions, loads, constraints, solution sequences, solver output, and result interpretation.
• Experience with CAE pre-processing and post-processing, engineering data models, solver results, validation workflows, and commercial simulation platforms.
• Hands-on Python scripting and experience designing custom automation or productivity tools for CAE workflows.
• Working knowledge of Figma and Visual Paradigm or equivalent tools, plus experience translating engineering workflows into software requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with MSC Apex, Patran, Adams, Marc, Abaqus, ANSYS, HyperWorks, or equivalent CAE technologies.
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
