Senior Manager, Engineering

What you will do

• Manage all activities of the engineering department and direct department work through subordinate managers or supervisors.
• Lead the design of new products, modification of existing designs, improvement of production techniques, and development of test procedures.
• Analyze technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan engineering projects.
• Work with management, production, and marketing staff to assess engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand.
• Forecast departmental operating costs and direct preparation of budget requests.
• Lead recruitment, hiring, performance evaluations, salary adjustments, discipline, termination, and other personnel actions.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of related experience and a four-year degree.
• Experience managing professional employees and/or supervisors or supervising large, complex technical, business support, or production operations teams.
• Ability to manage performance and results for a medium-sized team or multiple small teams.
• Ability to adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
• Ability to provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and/or customers.
• Experience exercising full management authority, including performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, discipline, termination, and other personnel actions.
• Ability to address issues affecting areas beyond the immediate team through knowledge of related disciplines.
