Infrastructure Technical Consultant (VDI/HCI)

Location: Onsite at an HPE partner/customer office in Winnersh, Berkshire, or Bristol, Avon, United Kingdom.

What you will do

• Implement part or all of agreed enterprise technical solutions for customers.
• Contribute to detailed technical designs, solution architectures, integration planning, optimisation, and operational readiness.
• Lead small to medium technical projects and specific integration activities.
• Work with customers, Solutions Architects, Project Managers, Technical Managers, and delivery teams to translate requirements into practical outcomes.
• Provide technical advice, support, customer documentation, proposals, statements of work, and effort estimates.
• Contribute to knowledge communities, document project learnings, and participate in presales activities.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience and a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related area; without a degree, 8 or more years of relevant professional experience.
• Broad knowledge and hands-on experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI).
• Depth and breadth of technical knowledge to own the design and scope of deliverables within an area of expertise.
• Mastery of at least one technical discipline and strong knowledge of at least three major technology areas.
• Advanced business, technical, or functional knowledge and the ability to resolve problems involving combinations and interactions of products.
• Experience leading a small team in delivering a specific deliverable.
• Ability to apply technology and consulting skills to solve customer business problems and communicate complex issues clearly.
• Ability to lead client status or technical meetings, clarify requirements, develop high-level designs or plans, estimate delivery effort, and advise on risks.
• Ability to produce customer documentation, requirements documents, statements of work, proposals, technical reports, and written responses to technical proposals.
