Network Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom; work includes on-site test environments, factory lines, and customer sites.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain compute and network infrastructure for test environments and customer deployments.
• Build server racks, install software, fit cabling, configure routing, and set up service monitoring.
• Deploy infrastructure for prototype test rigs, demonstration factory lines, and finalized customer installations.
• Specify and scale servers, switches, routers, cabling, UPS systems, and other equipment with suppliers.
• Collaborate with platform engineering, robotics, systems engineering, and test teams.

Requirements

• Experience designing, implementing, and deploying platform infrastructure in in-house and remote environments.
• Ability to build and configure server racks, switches, routers, patch panels, and power systems.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP addressing, physical and logical network segmentation, routing, and firewall rules.
• Ability to configure Linux and Windows systems and remote deployment tools for bare-metal industrial and embedded PCs.
• Proactive approach to customer support, maintenance, equipment planning, repairs, and risk communication.
• Degree or vocational qualification in computer engineering, networking, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related field, or equivalent experience; 3 years of relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotic automation, industrial or embedded PCs, factory installations, or Ubiquiti equipment.
• Experience monitoring network and compute health and capacity and diagnosing hardware, configuration, and capacity faults.
• Experience maintaining network architecture, server racking, cabling, wiring documentation, and diagrams.
• Experience selecting and procuring infrastructure equipment for different projects.
