What you will do

• Build, improve, and own matching and recommendation models, including candidate-to-job matching and internal mobility recommendations.
• Define evaluation approaches by building golden datasets from recruiter and user decisions, establishing quality metrics, and running robust scientific experiments.
• Track and communicate technical and business metrics using LLM-as-a-judge and human feedback.
• Write clean, tested, maintainable Python code using AI coding agents, and review code from peers and AI agents.
• Follow research in LLMs, embeddings, recommender systems, explainability, and model evaluation, bringing relevant ideas into the product roadmap.
• Document and present work to product, engineering, and business stakeholders, while contributing to challenges, conferences, and publications.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience as a Data Scientist, Senior Data Scientist, or in a similar role within an AI startup or AI team.
• Strong experience with recommender systems, search, ranking, or matching, including learning-to-rank, scoring models, Gradient Boosting Trees, or embedding models.
• Experience designing evaluation datasets and quality metrics such as AUC, NDCG, precision, and recall, and using LLM-as-a-judge and human feedback.
• Strong foundation in NLP and GenAI, including Transformers, LLMs, and embedding models.
• High-quality Python software development skills covering clean design, testing, packaging, and maintainable code; practical CI/CD knowledge and hands-on experience with agentic coding.
• Ability to judge when AI-generated code is correct or incorrect, simplify complex problems, work with ambiguity, and collaborate with data scientists, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
• Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with explainable or conversational recommendations.
• Experience in HR Tech, talent acquisition, or workforce data.
• Publications, open-source contributions, or strong results in ML challenges such as RecSys or Kaggle.
• Experience training or fine-tuning Transformers, LLMs, or embedding models.
