Head of Engineering (AI Robotics)

Location: Watertown, Massachusetts, United States; On-site

Salary: $300,000–$400,000 per year

What you will do

• Own quarterly engineering priorities and keep delivery aligned with business outcomes.
• Lead recruiting and grow the engineering organization as the company scales.
• Set team structure, manage performance, and develop engineering leaders.
• Own engineering processes focused on speed, AI adoption, and ease of execution.
• Partner with the CTO on technical direction and with the leadership team on company priorities.

Requirements

• Experience leading an engineering organization through significant growth.
• Experience running software and hardware engineering, or software engineering at a company that ships hardware.
• Experience working closely with a technical founder or CTO.
• Strong operational skills in planning, hiring, and team management.
• Experience bringing AI into engineering practices and supporting teams adopting it.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics, manufacturing, or products deployed in the field.
• Experience growing an organization from tens to hundreds of engineers.
