Senior Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

Annual base salary: $135,000–$180,000

What you will do

• Build production-grade automation and tooling that eliminates manual operations work.
• Use AI coding assistants and agentic workflows as part of daily engineering work.
• Own platform provisioning, deployment, scaling, lifecycle management, and decommissioning across Kubernetes, cloud, and on-prem environments.
• Troubleshoot full-stack production issues spanning databases, APIs, and infrastructure.
• Manage database and infrastructure hygiene, including cloning, migrations, decommissioning, and orphan cleanup.
• Participate in on-call rotations and own production escalations end to end.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in SRE, software development, or platform engineering with hands-on production coding.
• Strong ability to independently build, review, and ship production code.
• Deep Kubernetes experience with deployments, Helm, GitOps, and canary or blue/green releases.
• Strong cloud platform experience with at least one of AWS or OCI.
• Knowledge of system architecture, including databases, message queues, load balancing, autoscaling, caching, and API layers.
• Production incident and change management experience, plus Python and Go development skills.

Nice to have

• Infrastructure as code experience with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Relational and NoSQL database operations with PostgreSQL, Cassandra, or MongoDB.
• CI/CD ownership with Jenkins or ArgoCD.
• Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives and working with secrets management or SSL certificate lifecycles.
