Staff Software Engineer, Platform (AI)

Location: Seattle, WA, USA; the role is associated with a Seattle office.

Salary: $180,000–$240,000 annually, plus equity and a performance-based annual bonus.

What you will do

• Set the technical direction for the platform across infrastructure, reliability, developer experience, security, performance, and cost.
• Own the reliability, scalability, and operational health of the production platform.
• Lead platform initiatives from problem definition and architecture through hands-on implementation and production deployment.
• Evolve Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment foundations as the organization scales.
• Build tooling, abstractions, and automation that improve engineering productivity and operational ownership.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture, design reviews, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant platform engineering, infrastructure, SRE, DevOps, or related experience.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, cloud-native architecture, container orchestration, and production infrastructure.
• Strong experience with infrastructure as code, GitOps, CI/CD workflows, and modern deployment practices.
• Strong command of observability and reliability fundamentals, including metrics, logging, tracing, alerting, and incident response.
• Ability to lead complex platform initiatives while remaining hands-on, making pragmatic architectural decisions, and driving execution through influence.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI or ML infrastructure, GPU provisioning, model deployment, or compute-intensive workloads.
• Experience supporting cloud or multi-cloud environments with demanding reliability and scaling requirements.
• Proficiency with TypeScript or Python for internal tooling and operational automation.
