Lead Application Platform Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Embed with two to three product engineering groups while maintaining a broader platform perspective.
• Own reference architectures for synchronous services, asynchronous workers, and data pipelines, including Infrastructure-as-Code starters, monitoring checklists, runbooks, and cost models.
• Set technical standards for reviews, testing, instrumentation, operational readiness, and platform engineering practices.
• Act as an escalation point for production and architecture issues, lead major incident response with SRE, and oversee root-cause remediation.
• Design multi-service architectures, lead capacity and scalability analysis, and investigate failure modes, bottlenecks, data consistency, blast radius, and cost.
• Build internal automation and AI-assisted migration and review workflows, evaluate new tooling, and drive software supply-chain security remediation.

Requirements

• 9+ years of software, platform, or reliability engineering experience with current hands-on coding expertise.
• Expert-level proficiency in Go, Python, and Node.js/TypeScript, with strong competency in Dart/Flutter and the ability to work across Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C, C++, C, Rust, and C#/.NET.
• Deep expertise in AWS, production-grade Kubernetes, Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, and Infrastructure-as-Code at scale; working knowledge of GCP/GKE and multi-cloud architecture.
• Advanced experience with CI/CD automation, GitHub Actions, Harness, observability, distributed tracing, performance testing, capacity planning, and scalability analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of databases, event-driven architectures, Kafka, Redis, API and platform tooling, and software supply-chain security.
• Experience operating high-traffic distributed systems, leading incident response, establishing architecture patterns adopted by other teams, and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Mobile DevOps experience with Fastlane, Flutter/Dart, Swift, Kotlin builds, and mobile testing automation.
• Experience with Kong, Okta RBAC, Backstage, Gofr, NodeFr/Zode, LLM integration, prompt engineering, or agentic AI orchestration.
• Technical writing or conference speaking experience and AWS, GCP, or Kubernetes certifications.
