Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Based in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico; relocation to Mérida required within 60 days if not currently living nearby

Relocation bonus: MXN 42,500

What you will do

• Design and develop algorithms, automation, and services for a cloud-based identity resolution platform.
• Build and maintain Java and Spring Boot microservices on complex relational, NoSQL, and big data models.
• Design, document, secure, and version RESTful APIs using OpenAPI and Swagger.
• Own features and systems end to end, from architecture and implementation through production deployment.
• Support and troubleshoot production systems, improving application and database performance.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to code reviews, and influence technical and architectural decisions.

Requirements

• Must be based in or relocate to Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico within 60 days.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, primarily with Java.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, RESTful APIs, OpenAPI, JPA, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, performance troubleshooting, CI/CD with Jenkins, and microservices security practices including OAuth2, JWT, and SSL/TLS.
• Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and time-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka or other event-streaming platforms and Python automation.
• Knowledge of AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Experience with SSO, SAML, OIDC, cloud-native development, Agile/Scrum, or Master Data Management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• AWS or Java certifications.
