Senior Kafka/AWS Integration Engineer

Location: Remote; Brasília, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Recife, Brazil; Buenos Aires Province, Argentina; Bogotá, Colombia; Mexico City, Mexico

What you will do

• Build and productionize an event-driven middleware platform using Apache Kafka and AWS, with Salesforce as the initial event source.
• Provision and configure Amazon MSK clusters, Kafka topics, Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, and CDC source connectors.
• Build REST-based event ingress with Amazon API Gateway and AWS Lambda to receive Salesforce events and publish them to Kafka.
• Develop Java stream-processing applications and integration pipelines to transform and deliver events to downstream systems.
• Implement dead letter queues, error-handling patterns, automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, code coverage, and AWS CloudFormation infrastructure.
• Work in an Agile sprint process with the Lead Integration Architect, document solutions, and transfer knowledge to client engineering and operations teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on Java development experience, including backend, stream-processing, and API components.
• Professional experience building event-driven and Kafka-based systems, including Apache Kafka, Amazon MSK, Kafka clusters and topics, Kafka Connect, and Change Data Capture.
• Experience with Schema Registry, schema versioning and schema evolution.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-based integrations, including API Gateway and AWS Lambda.
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience with AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience building and supporting production-grade integration pipelines and event-driven integration systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code coverage, and production-quality software development practices.
• Comfort working in an Agile/sprint environment under a client architect's direction, with strong communication, technical documentation, and knowledge-transfer skills.
• Advanced written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Salesforce CDC or Salesforce event integrations.
• Experience implementing dead letter queues and error-handling patterns in event-driven systems.
