Senior Backend Developer (Java)

Location: On-site in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico

What you will do

• Provide L3 technical support and act as the final escalation point for field issues.
• Work with L2 support and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve production incidents.
• Perform deep problem determination, root cause analysis, debugging, and bug fixing for customer-reported issues.
• Develop application software and write functional and design documentation.
• Analyze vulnerabilities and contribute to service improvement and KPI achievement.
• Communicate technical findings to application architects, support teams, and end users.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 6 years of professional experience in software development or L3 support using Java.
• Experience with microservices architectures, cloud or web-based applications, and production troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to write well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
• Experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Git, Maven, Docker, MongoDB, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud technologies.
• Fluent English at B2 level or higher is required.

Nice to have

• Leadership skills and experience working with international customers.
• Agile methodology experience and familiarity with retail applications.
• Frontend experience with JavaScript, Vue, Node, or TypeScript.
• Linux and Windows experience.
• Selenium and Cucumber experience.
