Bilingual Senior Disability Claims Consultant

Location: Remote within Canada; listed locations include Montreal, Québec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Ontario

Salary: CAD 82,648–91,831 annually

What you will do

• Coach and develop disability claims specialists and consultants.
• Monitor and improve case management quality according to active case management protocols.
• Review and correct disability management files, reports, claimant communications, and decision letters.
• Manage action plans and make or recommend decisions on highly complex disability claims.
• Support collaboration with members, employers, healthcare providers, physicians, and other partners.
• Monitor claim decisions, case management plans, treatment progress, milestones, and required support.

Requirements

• University degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline.
• At least five years of experience managing short- and long-term disability claims for an insurer or government agency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reviewing and correcting communications with claimants, providers, physicians, employers, human resources, and lawyers.
• Strong knowledge of contract wording and the ability to analyze disability management trend reports, medical reports, Independent Medical Exams, Functional Capacity Evaluations, surveillance, and medical consultant reviews.
• Deep understanding of healthcare and insurance, health terminology, accommodation, and return-to-work concepts.
• English and French bilingualism is required for daily collaboration with teams and partners in Canada.

• Training or coaching experience, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly, logically, tactfully, and sensitively.
