Software Engineer II (AI)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; hybrid role

Salary: CAD 100,000–130,000 per year

What you will do

• Build and maintain scalable agentic cloud services and the Insight Engine on AWS using C#.
• Work with data scientists to turn Python data science code and LLM-based logic into reliable production capabilities.
• Design backend REST APIs and data models using PostgreSQL and Snowflake.
• Build evaluation tooling, test data generation, and systems for assessing insight quality.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, technical planning, and collaboration with engineers, product managers, and data scientists.
• Support production operations through on-call rotations, incident response, root cause analysis, monitoring, and alerting improvements.

Requirements

• 3–4 years of professional software development experience with complex software projects.
• Proficiency in C# or a similar language such as Java, plus SQL.
• Working knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture, with experience building cloud-based applications.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs, and familiarity with Python for data science code.
• Exposure to LLM applications, including LLM APIs and prompt design.
• Experience with automated testing, version control, CI/CD, code reviews, Docker, and containerization.

Nice to have

• Experience with .NET Orleans, evals, agentic product capabilities, event-based communication, or gRPC APIs.
• Experience with on-call rotations, production operations, and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, or DataDog.
• Interest in Generative AI and experience using AI-powered coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
