Senior AI Engineer

Location: North York, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work from home or the office based on business and client needs.

Salary: CAD 90,000–140,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate enterprise AI, machine learning, and generative AI solutions on AWS.
• Build Amazon Bedrock applications using prompt engineering, RAG, tool use, intelligent agents, and workflow automation.
• Develop secure RAG pipelines covering ingestion, chunking, embeddings, indexing, retrieval, grounding, evaluation, and governance.
• Engineer serverless and containerized services using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, ECS, or EKS.
• Implement security, monitoring, tracing, evaluation, cost controls, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and operational runbooks.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, data engineers, security partners, and business stakeholders while mentoring junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years building and operating solutions on AWS.
• Production experience delivering AI, machine learning, or generative AI solutions.
• Strong Python skills with experience designing RESTful APIs and event-driven services.
• Experience with Amazon Bedrock, core AWS services, RAG, AI agents, vector search, AWS security, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and containerization.
• Reliability Status Clearance and satisfactory background checks are required before starting employment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Bedrock Knowledge Bases, Guardrails, Agents, AgentCore, or Amazon SageMaker.
• Experience with Amazon OpenSearch, PostgreSQL with pgvector, AWS Glue, PySpark, or analytics workloads.
• Experience developing interfaces with React or dashboards with Amazon QuickSight.
