LLM Engineer (AI)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid working model with work-from-home and on-site presence at client or hirify.global offices

Salary: CAD 75,000–83,750 per year

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable, distributed software systems and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Build and deploy LLM-based pipelines using RAG, vector databases, agentic workflows, and parameter-efficient fine-tuning methods such as LoRA and QLoRA.
• Lead the software development lifecycle from requirements analysis and architecture through coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Architect cloud and Databricks solutions, including Unity Catalog governance from data through AI model output.
• Develop prompt and response guardrails to support responsible AI requirements.
• Implement DevOps automation with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation, and cloud monitoring services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1–5 years of software development experience, including relevant LLM application development.
• Strong Python and JavaScript skills, with experience using FastAPI or Django for stateless and stateful APIs.
• Experience with AWS, Databricks, Azure, Unity Catalog, infrastructure-as-code, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud databases or storage services.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and SDKs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, LangChain, and DSPy.
• Must possess or be able to obtain work authorization for Canada.

Nice to have

• Front-end development experience with React, Next.js, or Tailwind CSS.
• Experience with production deployments serving thousands of users, Redis, vector search, security, privacy compliance, and Agile delivery.
