Location: Sacramento, California, United States; California-based field work with occasional travel to other states. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $55,424–$94,221 per year.

What you will do

• Plan and execute field assignments for California-based projects.
• Conduct general and species-specific biological surveys, habitat assessments, construction monitoring, and nest surveys.
• Identify avian species and survey mammals, herpetofauna, vernal pool branchiopods, nesting birds, and raptors.
• Document field findings in monitoring logs, reports, memorandums, and email communications.
• Prepare and review Biological Technical Reports, Biological Assessments, technical memoranda, and supporting documents.
• Communicate with client field contacts and senior biologists while supporting regional Natural Resources teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
• Experience conducting field surveys, habitat assessments, and general reporting for California special-status wildlife species.
• Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check.
• Current authorization to work in the United States is required.
• This position is not eligible for new H-1B visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Existing relationships with industry professionals.
• Experience with data entry and formatting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Salesforce, Survey123, ArcGIS, and Google Earth.
• ISNet training, LAN ID experience, and proficiency with GPS technology.
