Data & Solution Architect (Databricks and Palantir Platforms)

Location: Hybrid in Rockville, Maryland, or remote within the continental United States (CONUS); up to 15% CONUS travel and possible on-site work at customer, government, or secure facilities.

Salary: $171,546–$189,875 per year, with potential additional compensation such as bonuses.

What you will do

• Translate customer and mission requirements into technical roadmaps, architecture designs, implementation plans, and production solutions.
• Architect and implement scalable data lakehouse platforms using Databricks, Apache Spark, PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
• Build near-real-time, batch, streaming, API-based, event-driven, and file-based ingestion pipelines with data quality, lineage, reconciliation, and observability.
• Design and deploy data products, marts, semantic layers, analytical applications, and operational workflows in Palantir Foundry and Palantir AIP.
• Develop generative AI, RAG, multi-agent, vector search, model-serving, and AI-enabled workflow solutions with customer and AI engineering teams.
• Establish security, governance, CI/CD, monitoring, incident response, and production operating models for data and AI workloads.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, data platform engineering, software engineering, data architecture, or solution architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, and lakehouse architecture.
• Strong Python proficiency and experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with dimensional modeling, star schemas, data marts, semantic layers, data quality, and performance optimization.
• Ability to work directly with customers, lead technical discussions, explain complex concepts, and deliver production solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, systems engineering, or a related field; ability to obtain a Tier 2 / Moderate Risk Background Investigation and VA PIV credential.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, Palantir AIP, ontology modeling, operational applications, or Palantir deployment patterns.
• Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, Event Hubs, Delta Live Tables, Structured Streaming, CDC, MLflow, Mosaic AI, Vector Search, or Databricks Workflows.
• Knowledge of RAG architectures, agentic workflows, vector databases, prompt management, LLM evaluation, and model monitoring.
• Experience with Terraform, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar DevOps tools.
• Federal, defense, intelligence, healthcare, financial services, regulated-environment, or relevant Databricks and cloud certifications.
