Databricks Solutions Architect Senior Manager (Databricks)

Location: Hybrid work in Chicago, Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Denver, or Houston, United States; in-person work at local offices and client sites is required, with possible local or out-of-state travel.

Salary: $149,000–$239,000 per year. Estimated total cash range: $169,860–$272,460 per year, including a 14% bonus target.

What you will do

• Design and deliver modern data engineering, lakehouse, data warehousing, and data platform solutions using Databricks.
• Assess existing on-premises and cloud data solutions and develop migration, modernization, and optimization strategies.
• Lead implementation of ETL processes, data integration, transformation, cleansing, pipelines, databases, and data models.
• Establish data governance, security, access control, lineage, and data-sharing practices using Unity Catalog and related technologies.
• Manage project delivery, client relationships, proposals, business development, and communication with senior client stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, coach, and develop engagement teams while overseeing work plans, performance, and deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as MIS, CIS, or Analytics.
• 7+ years of experience in professional services or a related industry.
• Professional Databricks certification is required: Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional or Databricks Certified Machine Learning Professional.
• Expertise in SQL and Apache Spark, including PySpark and Spark SQL, with strong experience in data engineering, architecture, modeling, analytics, governance, security, and networking.
• Experience leading teams, managing projects, mentoring and coaching employees, conducting performance reviews, and communicating risks and solutions to executives.
• Competency in at least three Databricks technologies, such as Lakehouse architecture, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Auto Loader, Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines, Asset Bundles, CI/CD, Databricks SQL, or serverless compute.

Nice to have

• Databricks Champion designation.
• Experience with C#, Java, Scala, R, DAX, or MDX.
• Experience with data science, machine learning, Mosaic AI, MLflow, model serving, or generative AI.
