Director, Product Science (AI)

Salary: $164,000–$205,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead the scientific conceptualization, problem definition, task boundaries, workflow design, reference sets, and evaluation of product agents.
• Apply real-world evidence expertise and domain knowledge to develop agent systems for scientific tasks.
• Prepare scientific submissions for product and roadmap governance, including evaluation sets and agent performance metrics.
• Lead scientific delivery for customer co-build, co-development, and co-design partnerships with pharmaceutical and data ecosystem customers.
• Design customer-specific agentic RWE workflows, apply them to customer SOPs, and evaluate resulting agents.
• Contribute to AI scientific thought leadership and support go-to-market teams with customer, competitor, and market insights.

Requirements

• Doctorate or master’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional research experience after a doctorate or 6 years after a master’s degree in RWE, pharmacoepidemiology, HEOR, or a related field.
• Strong command of observational study design, healthcare data, and analytic methods.
• Experience driving progress across cross-functional product teams and resolving scientific and product delivery challenges.
• At least 1 year of experience managing or providing matrix leadership, including coaching and substantive feedback.
• Extensive experience with healthcare data and familiarity with analytic tools or evidence generation platforms such as R, Python, or Substantiate.

Nice to have

• Experience developing scientific standards, study templates, quality processes, or methodological guidance.
• Experience representing an organization in workshops, webinars, or professional forums.
• Peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, or other external scientific contributions.
• Experience using AI tools, including agents or LLMs, for scientific work products.
