AWS Cloud Engineer

What you will do

• Provide guidance on secure computing architecture, cloud brokerage, shared security services, governance, FedRAMP coordination, and departmental cloud or hybrid certification.
• Develop and manage cloud-service workflows using Scaled Agile Framework principles.
• Evaluate AWS services for tenant consumption based on security posture, IL4/IL5 constraints, cost, and operational impact.
• Author service evaluations, architecture decision records, and design documentation.
• Apply security controls, continuous monitoring, RMF processes, risk analysis, and vulnerability-management practices, including POA&M closures.
• Mentor government personnel and support continuous process improvement and collaboration.

Requirements

• Secret Clearance required; Top Secret is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate and IAT-2 qualification with CompTIA Security+.
• Experience with DoDAF, FEAF, DoD ATO, DoD Zero Trust, application refactoring, enterprise cloud environments, and DoD information-system development processes.
• Hands-on experience with AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Terraform, hirify.global, EKS, Git, CI/CD, and Secure SDLC practices.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud, FedRAMP High, DoD Impact Levels 2, 4, and 5, and large multi-account network architectures including VPCs, subnetting, routing, and cross-account connectivity.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
• AWS Certified Advanced Networking or AWS Certified Security specialty certification.
• Experience with machine learning, generative AI, enterprise service migration, or additional IAT-2 qualifications such as CAP, CISSP, CISM, GSEC, GCIH, or GSLC.
