Senior SaaS Operations Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within the US, or hybrid from San Francisco, New York, or Denver; availability during core business hours is required.

Salary: $132,060–$186,444 per year, with potential equity and discretionary bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot complex information systems with high availability, security, and performance.
• Identify vulnerabilities and performance bottlenecks, and establish scalable engineering practices.
• Lead and mentor engineers while collaborating with product, security, legal, and other cross-functional teams.
• Administer enterprise AI platforms including Claude, OpenAI, and Gemini, covering SSO, SCIM, access controls, and license management.
• Review AI connectors and integrations using least-privilege and data-governance principles.
• Build AI-assisted automations, maintain system documentation and AI usage guidelines, and research new technologies.

Requirements

• 10+ years of IT support experience, including 5+ years in a senior or lead engineering position.
• Deep understanding of system architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Advanced experience with Okta and cloud-based IT environments such as Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack, GitHub, and Atlassian.
• Hands-on administration or deployment of enterprise AI tools, including identity integration and data-handling controls.
• Experience with system administration automation and scripting, plus strong communication and data-driven decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform or Ansible.
• Experience building with Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini APIs, including agents, MCP servers, or prompt engineering.
• Experience establishing AI governance practices and acceptable-use policies.
• Relevant certifications such as Okta Certified Professional or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
