System Software Development Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Hybrid work in the United States, with on-site and off-site work split between assigned hirify.global sites. Primary locations: Hillsboro, Oregon; additional location: Phoenix, Arizona.

Annual salary: $149,600–$211,200 USD.

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and integrate software across firmware, device drivers, operating systems, middleware, frameworks, algorithms, applications, and user interfaces.
• Develop SORT/Test Handler Software, Module Integrated Software, and Backend Automation Systems for legacy and new developments.
• Test, validate, debug, and optimize software to improve reliability, quality, and performance.
• Develop reference platforms and product-specific software solutions throughout the software lifecycle.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, architecture, validation, and supplier teams to integrate software and optimize system functionality.
• Analyze requirements, contribute to architecture and code reviews, and troubleshoot complex system-level issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering with 6+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 4+ years of experience, or a PhD.
• At least 2 years of experience with SORT/Test Handler Software, Module Integrated Software, and Backend Automation Systems.
• In-depth understanding of SORT stakeholders and system integration requirements.
• Experience programming with .NET.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, and software quality skills.
• Ability to work under the hybrid model in the United States, including on-site work at an assigned hirify.global location.

Nice to have

• Experience in test development and semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience with software release, validation, optimization, and supplier software integration across SORT and HOP.
• Familiarity with automation, process improvement, and troubleshooting legacy and new software solutions.
