OEM Systems Software Engineer I

Location: Hybrid, with an average requirement of two days per week in an HPE office; United States, Texas

Salary: USD 71,700–165,800 annual base salary in Texas. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Resolve OEM and service-provider customer issues on HPE ProLiant platforms.
• Improve ProLiant software deliverables, including SPP, iLOrest, and COM.
• Identify, debug, and report software defects while collaborating with development teams and hardware vendors.
• Create test plans, cases, scenarios, traceability matrices, and reports for current and future-generation ProLiant servers.
• Design and analyze automation frameworks and own Quick Setup, test execution, and result reporting.
• Validate HPE DX server processes and operating-system compatibility in collaboration with Nutanix, external partners, and development teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Typically 2–4 years of experience working with industry-standard servers.
• Knowledge of server architecture, Intel and AMD platforms, NICs, NVIDIA GPUs, SSDs, HDDs, and RAID controllers.
• Systems programming knowledge covering x64 architecture, storage, and networking, plus Python scripting for test cases.
• Experience with RHEL, SUSE Linux Enterprise, Ubuntu, XML, JSON, UEFI BIOS, Ethernet networking, and REST APIs communicating with iLO.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies, including test-plan execution, debugging, and script and tool testing, together with strong communication skills.
