Senior Software Engineer (Embedded Real-Time Systems)

Location: US - Wilsonville, OR; other location: Orlando, FL. U.S. citizenship is required.

What you will do

• Design and implement low-level hardware interfacing software for multispectral imaging sensors.
• Develop real-time, multiprocessor communication methods in multithreaded environments.
• Implement serial and packetized protocols across Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC, CAN, and serial connections.
• Develop software using protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, RTP, NMEA, JSON, and REST APIs.
• Collaborate with FPGA, electrical, and mechanical engineers throughout software design, development, and testing.
• Build collaborative relationships and share technical knowledge across teams and projects.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of embedded real-time development experience with multithreaded software.
• Complete command of C/C++ and fluency in object-oriented design methods.
• Experience with Linux kernel drivers and custom hardware interfacing.
• Familiarity with software development, configuration management, and defect tracking tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with Linux, FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or other real-time operating systems.
• Real-time video streaming, hardware-accelerated compression, transport, and MISB metadata experience.
• Experience with SQL or other databases, Qt/QML, Xilinx or Qualcomm Snapdragon architectures, networking protocols, or Java.
• Technical team leadership experience.
