Chip Software Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and build software tooling, firmware, and infrastructure for semiconductor design, verification, manufacturing, and post-silicon validation.
• Partner with hardware engineers and EDA teams to accelerate silicon development cycles and improve yield, performance, and quality.
• Translate ambiguous requirements from product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders into production-ready solutions.
• Build large-scale grid, cloud, or HPC compute infrastructure and automate engineering workflows.
• Develop data pipelines for design and characterization data.
• Contribute through code reviews, design reviews, documentation, troubleshooting, and mentorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Six or more years of software engineering experience, including significant experience in semiconductor environments.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
• Hands-on experience with EDA, verification, or post-silicon validation workflows.
• Understanding of low-level hardware-software interaction, scripting, automation, data pipelines, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; U.S. Citizens, Green Card Holders, EAD Holders, and H-1B transfer candidates are eligible.

Nice to have

• Exposure to SystemVerilog or other HDLs.
• Familiarity with UVM-based verification workflows.
• Experience with cloud-based EDA workflows.
• Hands-on experience applying ML to silicon design.
• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
