Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Onsite at the ISD Office in Bentonville, Arkansas, United States

Annual salary: $110,000–$220,000, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

hirify.global's Global Communications Engineering team develops cloud-native software and automation that enhance the associate experience and support Walmart's communications organization.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, deployment, and operation of scalable, resilient cloud-native solutions.
• Drive system design, architectural decisions, and engineering standards across complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Promote software quality, test automation, observability, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency.
• Mentor engineers, support knowledge sharing, and provide technical guidance across the organization.
• Collaborate with product, business, and engineering stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Apply AI, LLMs, intelligent automation, and AI-powered tools to improve development workflows, diagnostics, and recovery time.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in React, JavaScript, Java, Node, microservices, REST APIs, and GraphQL.
• Experience building scalable cloud-native solutions with CI/CD, automation, and modern DevOps practices.
• Hands-on experience with production LLM applications, AI guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and intelligent automation.
• Experience with AI agents, multi-step reasoning, MCP, A2A, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Proven technical leadership, architectural decision-making, cross-team collaboration, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree plus four years of software engineering experience, or six years of relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a relevant computer science or software engineering field.
• Experience developing enterprise communication platforms.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
